CTK Meal Ministry Update Dennis and Carolyn Ziegler extend their heartfelt thanks for all the visits and meals their CTK family has shared with them as Carolyn recovers from her spinal stroke. As Carolyn continues her journey to mobility and Dennis faces his own upcoming surgery, let’s continue to keep them close to our hearts through our prayers and our actions with visits and meals during September. Sign up in the narthex or online at https://www.TakeThemAMeal.com/CLTD0317. Note: We are now doing “light” meals such as soups and salads. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact Vicar Amy (704.616.4096 or acarpenter1725@gmail.com).
Church Directory We are almost ready to print the new directory but we are still missing some information! A proof copy of the directory will be out in the narthex today and next Sunday. Please stop by and take a look to be sure that your information is included and is correct, and that we have a picture of you. Someone should be available to take your picture if needed or you can make arrangements to email a current picture of your family to be included in the directory. SHOW YOUR CTK SPIRIT! It’s time to clear out our stock of KIDZONE! T-Shirts and book bags from previous years. Check out the shelves in the Fellowship Hall against the north wall. There are both adult and child sizes, but not every size is available. First come/First served; Please take what you want and wear with joy!
Sunday Adult Class Cultures In Conflict, the new dvd study from Ray Vander Laan, begins today at 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the Conference Room. Join us as we learn how to meet the challenges of our culture from the apostle Paul, as he presents his beliefs to the most powerful court in Athens and settles among the Greco-Romans of Corinth, who valued wealth and class, worship of multiple gods, and decadent pleasure above all else. Baby Food Jars Needed! The Thursday morning Craft Group needs baby food jars. Maybe you have been saving baby food jars but don’t have a plan for them, bring them and place them in the basket that is on the table in the narthex.
Adult Bible Study Click here for information on the Adult Bible Study starting September 13th.
Saturday Sacks are Back In our community Jesus is represented by Christ the King Lutheran Church when it comes to feeding children who don’t have resources for healthy eating. We join with other churches and agencies in the area to supply “Saturday Sacks” at the end of each week so at-risk children will have nutritional meals on weekends. Our assigned school is Lakeside Middle, and your Choir handles the preparation of the Saturday Sacks during the school year as part of their outreach. The Pantry helps us by supplying some of the resources, but the balance is provided by your giving. Please consider an ongoing or one-time gift of any amount to the Saturday Sacks ministry.
GED Classes A Christian-based, compassionate, GED tutoring program takes place every Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. until noon, and now every Tuesday and Thursday evening, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Mosaic United Methodist Church. Anyone interested can simply show up at Mosaic one of those times to begin.
Use of Facilities If you are planning an event or meeting here at the church, please be sure to contact the church office by phone or email to be sure that the space is available. This will also insure that all meetings and events are put on the calendar to avoid any conflicts.
