| CTK Meal Ministry Update
Dennis and Carolyn Ziegler extend their heartfelt thanks for all the visits and meals their CTK family has shared with them as Carolyn recovers from her spinal stroke. She has shown marked improvement and is trusting God that she will be able to walk on her own again soon. This month, we will continue supporting and encouraging the Zieglers by giving you the opportunity to visit them and take them a meal (sign up in the narthex or online at https://www.TakeThemAMeal.com/CLTD0317). NOTE: Since we fed them so well this last month, the Zieglers have requested that we keep it simple in September with lighter meals such as soups and salads with little or no meat. Thank you!
Sunday Adult Class
How do you live in a culture where the worldview conflicts with Christianity? Does this sound like our world in 2018? Beginning Sunday, September 9th, at 9:15 a.m. in the Conference Room, we will learn how to meet the challenges of our culture from the apostle Paul, as he presents his beliefs to the most powerful court in Athens and settles among the Greco-Romans of Corinth, who valued wealth and class, worship of multiple gods, and decadent pleasure above all else. A second presentation of this adult Sunday school class will be held at 11:00 a.m. beginning Sunday, September 9th, in the Conference Room. To preview Paul’s time in Athens and Corinth, read Acts 17:16 to 18:17. Be with us as Ray Vander Laan leads us with his newest dvd, Cultures In Conflict!
Confirmation class for 7th and 8th graders begins on Saturday, September 8th, 9:00 a.m., at the church. If you have not received a letter and your child is in one of these grades, please see Pastor Dave for a class schedule.

Saturday Sacks are Back
In our community Jesus is represented by Christ the King Lutheran Church when it comes to feeding children who don’t have resources for healthy eating. We join with other churches and agencies in the area to supply “Saturday Sacks” at the end of each week so at-risk children will have nutritional meals on weekends. Our assigned school is Lakeside Middle, and your Choir handles the preparation of the Saturday Sacks during the school year as part of their outreach. The Pantry helps us by supplying some of the resources, but the balance is provided by your giving. Please consider an ongoing or one-time gift of any amount to the Saturday Sacks ministry.
A Christian-based, compassionate, GED tutoring program takes place every Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. until noon, and now every Tuesday and Thursday evening, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Mosaic United Methodist Church. Anyone interested can simply show up at Mosaic one of those times to begin.
Use of Facilities
If you are planning an event or meeting here at the church, please be sure to contact the church office by phone or email to be sure that the space is available. This will also insure that all meetings and events are put on the calendar to avoid any conflicts.
The Flower Chart for 2018 is up. Please sign up to provide flowers for the altar in 2018. The cost is $40.
