Weekly Update

Sunday, July 15 – Sunday, July 22

The Prayers of the Elders
“Is anyone among you sick?  Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.”  (James 5:14)
Your church council typically meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  Our next scheduled meeting is this Tuesday, July 17th.  Anyone who would like prayers for healing and anointing with oil by our Church Elders, please be at the church by 7:00 p.m.
Emergency Need
We have uncovered an emergency need in the community—the victim of a house fire lost everything.  Women’s shoes, size 10, women’s pants, size XL, and tops size 2XL are needed; see Gail Hendry to donate or for more information.

GED Teachers/Assistants Needed
The Mosaic Center is looking for anyone interested in teaching/assisting with their GED program.  There are two sessions; a morning session on Monday/Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon, and an evening session on Tuesday/Thursday from 6-8 p.m.  Help is needed with both sessions, but especially for the evening classes.  Please see Kevin, or contact Mark Niklinski at 706-825-7214, mark@mosaicumc.org.

Flower Chart
The Flower Chart for 2018 is up.  Please sign up to provide flowers for the altar in 2018.  The cost is $40.

Bazaar News
The Bazaar is on its way.  Will you be ready to participate?  It’s not too early to be working on your projects, gathering supplies and materials and putting your hands and hearts to the task of making the 2018 Bazaar the best yet.  The date to mark your calendar is Friday, November 2nd, and Saturday November 3rd, but we’ll need your finished projects by the end of October.  So it’s certainly not too early to begin!

If you’re in a quandary about what you could make, here are some ideas:

Money raised from last year’s bazaar was donated to the Care Pregnancy Center, Humane Society, When Help Can’t Wait, and Operation Christmas Child.
The Crafters’ Group meets on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m.  You are welcome to join them anytime.  It is a great time of fun and fellowship.  You don’t have to be crafty.  The ladies are always happy to teach you!
